Enameled Cast Iron Cookware

Cast iron cookware was popular during the late 19th and early 20th century because it provided an even cooking surface that maintained an even heat distribution. In the early 20th century enameled pots and pans became popular. This process made these pans safer and easier to use. It eliminated the need to season bare pans. The coated surface prevented rust and made the surface easier to clean.
